My name is Sheila Poppen. I have been Elementary Secretary at LIW since 2010. I grew up in Clark, SD and graduated from Clark High School in 1998. I attended SDSU for one year prior to graduating from LATI in 2000. I married my husband, Aaron in 2001. We have five sons, Andrew, James, Seth, Canaan, John and one daughter, Journey. We raise cattle, sheep, goats and pigs for 4H. We also have cats, ducks, and chickens on the farm. Journey just got her first pony! Let’s not forget our beloved dog, Gus! Gus passed away this last May. He left a huge hole in our hearts whence we filled with a new puppy, Ebony.

I love God! He has answered so many of my prayers. I depend on him to hold me up and retain me daily. Photography opens my eyes to the his magnificent creation. I like to cook and bake, mostly because I love to eat! I'm always up for a good movie. Mostly, I am thankful for my loving husband, and family!

My experience at LIW has been wonderful. We have a magnificent education program here in De Smet! Our teachers are knowledgeable and enthusiastic! Our classrooms are bright and cheerful! Students have the opportunity to learn creatively through hands on projects and technology. We strive to provide students with a sense of security by helping them acquire the skills needed to become lifelong learners and contributing citizens.

I am proud to be a De Smet Bulldog!
